Harrison School District Two Parents of Gifted and Talented Blog: January Blog Topic

Harrison School District Two Parents of Gifted and Talented Blog: January Blog TopicHappy New Year!  It is that time of year when everyone is making resolutions and setting goals for the upcoming year.  The gym is crowded for about two weeks and the produce section of the store is raided and empty!  These inconveniences are short-lived as most of us go back to our old ways and ditch our resolutions.  The topic for January is goal setting.  Do you set goals with your children?  Do you help them set goals for themselves and develop a plan to achieve them?  If so, what are some tips you can share that have made goal-setting successful with your children?  If you would like to start helping your children with successful goal-setting, what are some aspects that you could use help with?

  3. Students need to have accountability with their goal setting. It is a good idea to check in regularly on a pre-agreed upon schedule to visit the progress on their goals.
