Studying at home is so important, but often students find
studying boring or they study ineffectively. Good study habits can vastly
improve grades. Tip 1: Use flash cards! Having small “sound bites” of
information is less intimidating to study and aids in memorization. Tip 2: Have
the student create a practice test for themselves. When they start thinking
about how questions and answers are formed, the material sinks in.

William Shakespeare wrote 38 plays and 154 sonnets in 24 years? He would never
have accomplished all that if he spent most of his free time watching TV! Does
your student have a project they’re trying to accomplish? How do you encourage
them to spend their free time in positive ways?
