I must say that one of the down falls to my child being a perfectionist is that he's not always the fastest at getting his work complete in the time allotted because he has to do it just right. One of the positive things about it though, is that he tends to want to go over the top of assignments once he gets the "perfect" rythem going and he has decided that his work is going in the direction that he feels is the best for him!
ReplyDeleteAs a perfectionist myself, this is not the direction that I'd like my daughter to lean towards. I'd like to help her find a balance. She is already a perfectionist and absolutely hates to make mistakes. However, we know that this is how people learn-is by making mistakes and figuring out how to fix them and grow.
ReplyDeleteThe negative impact is being afraid to fail and not knowing how to correct mistakes when a child actually does fail!
